About this equipment
The Nordstar STCBM1800 brings a dry-heat bain marie, hot cupboard and single-tier heated gantry together in one 1800mm serving unit. With space for five full-size 1/1 GN pans, it provides a practical hot-food service point for event caterers, buffets, carveries and institutional dining, keeping the serving area and heated storage together. The bain marie top is independently controlled and can be configured for smaller gastronorm pans, allowing the layout to suit a varied menu rather than a fixed selection of dishes. A simmerstat controls the bain marie, while the hot cupboard has its own thermostat. The heated gantry includes a dimmer control, giving the team separate adjustment across the different parts of the unit. An insulated chassis and doors help retain heat within the cupboard, while lift-out sliding doors provide access without swinging into the working aisle. The 304 stainless steel top offers a practical commercial work surface, and castors make repositioning easier when arranging the service area or accessing the surrounding floor for cleaning. This example has had light, sporadic use with an event caterer and is in excellent used condition, with minor surface marks and scratches to the stainless steel. It is a useful option for caterers looking to combine hot holding and food presentation in a single mobile unit.
